Meet Cliff Matthews, a
teenage boy separated from his entire family with the exception of his younger
sister, whom he is desperate to keep alive. Along the quest to save their lives,
he encounters people who aren't all that they seem. Everyday's a battle, but if
he can't trust his own species, where does that leave his family?
And we can't forget the
man who may be willing to sacrifice Cliff's life, if it means world domination.
In terms of doomsday, no
one could've seen this coming. The dawn of the apocalypse…
MY REVIEW!!
Cliff is just a 16 year old boy the day The gargoyles
invade, the next he is a boy that must take care of his sister no matter what. He
meets a lot of people during the way and one of those people is Hunter. She
saved his life and doesn’t plan to leave anytime soon. Hunter and his sister
are the only things that Cliff finds good after everything that’s happened. If
it wasn’t for them, he would be dead. But there is one person in the group who isn’t
who he/she says they are. Who is it and what do they want?
All Cliff knows is
that he must keep his sister safe no matter what he has to do and who he has to
kill.
This was a very interesting book. Instead of a zombie
invasion they are getting attacked by green disgusting looking gargoyles that
kill everything in sight. The main characters are Cliff and Hunter and there
are a lot of chapters in other people’s POV so that we know what is going on
around the world. When we get to the end I’m not really sure what
happened…unless there is going to be a second one. Hopefully there will be
because there are a lot of unanswered questions. There were only about two
typos that I could see but other than that it was fine. This book was a lot of
fun to read. When were the gargoyles going to attack? What did they want? It
was a very unique concept that I enjoyed.
Cliff was a little bit of a risk taker and that’s not a bad
thing because he saved many lives, but he didn’t think of his sister at all.
Sometimes he did but he still risked his life. He just did it and Asked
questions later. He was an alright character, but I loved the story more. :D
Hunter: We find out very little of her. I can tell she has
been through a lot but we never get into her head. Sure some of the chapters
were in her POV but we never learn why she doesn’t want to go back home…..if it
did say I don’t remember. I read the book pretty fast. I just wanted her to admit
she had feeling for Cliff and go up to him and tell him. I mean she faced down
gargoyles and watched people die, but she can’t talk to Cliff.
