Review

I am loving the green eyes on the cover. hehe. I adore green eyes. 
Well anyways. This book was roughly 200 pages, so it was not very short as novels go, but it felt like the story went by really fast. Like. zip. done. I actually felt like I needed a little bit more meat to the story, but I am not sure what I felt was missing. The book was fabulous for a sweet read, but I think I needed it to be paced out a little more. I mean.. for some one who avoided Pan for centuries, she sure fell for Parker fast- after about a week. Or less. I am not saying they did not connect. I am just saying, it was a fast relationship. 

Parker grew as a character from a self- centered Lothario and actually thought of others, but it was a very fast transaction. I actually barely remember him as the Lothario, since he changed to quick. He was caring and it was nice, but I just would have liked a little more struggle. (: Because I'm horrible. Don't want to make it too easy on those characters, do we. ;) It does say something about him and does help a little that he was still interested in her after all those years and he does not quite understand his need to find her and woo her. I did enjoy him discovering his feelings for her. He was a pretty smart guy.

I adored the concept of the story. The goddess of chastity and the god of fertility are attracted to each other. But Pan is in it for the challenge and plans to be all "wham, bam, thank you ma'am" and since she knows this, she refuses to give up her vow. She disappears into the human realm and assumes the identity of one Sylvia Rain. But years later, Pan finds her and sets up a cover as Parker and commences to use all his sexiness to woo her. But he has to live in the mortal cover as Parker for a year to make his existence plausible and so as not to arouse Silvia's suspicion. We come in when he hires her after a year and the attraction that they had in god form rolls over into human form, so that speeds along her falling for him, since she wanted to give into Pan. 

I actually really liked Sylvia/Syrinx, although she can be a little judgmental at times (which is addressed in the book.) She was written that way and other characters comment on it, so I will let it go. It deepens her character. (: She cares for others, especially mortals. I enjoyed her struggle to accept whether to give up her vow. If it would change who she was. 

I absolutely loved Sylvia's best friend, Kara. She was hilarious. She was the comedic human glue of the story and the book would not have been the same without her. (: Plus she unabashedly checks out Parker's butt. Love it. 

All in all? A very creative spin on mythology with a sweet romance. The characters has their own unique personalities, which you can explore with alternating points of view. There was a sort of villain, who was really an annoyance more than anything and a bit of humor to balance out the romance. I liked it and would recommend to fans of mythology and sweet romances. (:
